Fibre Optic Symphonic Orchestra (FOSO)

Project Delivery
FOSO is a collaborative project between Wentworth Shire Council and Mildura Rural City Council, with Wentworth Shire Council leading the delivery and operational ownership. The project is supported by funding from the New South Wales Government.
What to Expect
  • A unique visual and aural experience: Immerse yourself in a stunning display of light and sound. The installation features 80 columns of light, created from cylindrical arrays of fibre optic cables, synchronised with an original orchestral score by acclaimed British composer Nainita Desai.

  • An internationally acclaimed artist: This project is the culmination of a vision by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, known for his large-scale light installations around the world.

  • A complementary experience: FOSO is designed to complement the contemplative journey of the nearby Trail of Lights on Lock Island in Mildura. Together, these two installations create an unmissable, multi-day attraction.

  • Iconic location: The installation is set against the backdrop of the iconic Perry Sandhills and Thegoa Lagoon, offering a spectacular and memorable experience.
